I've found great joy lately working on my hobby site Presidents In Time. Besides its built-in history lesson, I get immense satisfaction from the various acts of creation: curating the photos, validating the references, balancing the portrayals so they illustrate the march of each man's life, and the wonder of seeing them presented side-by-side in a large grid.

I sometimes wish there weren't so many presidents, tho. It's taking time to complete. I wanted to have it done in time for 4th of July, but I'm only halfway there.

Autism brings a torrent of challenges. Motor control issues, muscle hypotonia, sensory issues, and the occasional sprinkling of ADHD & PDA. All of these have conspired against my son learning many basic life skills as he enters his senior year of high school.

We're planning a trip to Hawaii, so yesterday we went to the pool to practice wearing snorkels so he could join us on a turtle-watching expedition. We opted for a full-face mask, which took care of the overwhelming sensory input of water hitting his face. With that conquered, he was able to concentrate on other aquatic skills.

And next thing you know, he was swimming on his own, for the very first time.

I cried then, and I'm crying while writing this now. I'm so proud of my not-so-little man, and I couldn't imagine a more-perfect Fathers Day.

I've been testing the iOS 27 beta on my iPad Mini the past couple days, because I wanted to get a glimpse of what a smart Siri could do for me. So far, it's impressive — enough so that I'd consider upgrading my daily carry device were I not so broke!

I've been sleeping poorly lately, I went to bed on-time. Despite that measure, I tossed & turned with an intense dream, where I was spending time with my late sister Micha. It was now, 12 years after she passed. We were passing my iPad Mini back and forth, challenging Siri AI to confirm which of us was the smartest, the prettiest, etc. You know, typical sibling shit.

Then I woke up.

I was up again last night. It was for only an hour, then I was able to return to dreamland. But some nights, I'm awake for excruciating amounts of time.

It's persistent — more days than not. And compounded — by the needs to get kids to school by a certain time, to make sure our new dog can be relieved, to be at work in time for morning standups I'm now responsible for running.

I'm still trying to crack this problem. Good thing I have a new blog to keep me company overnight.

I've owned this domain name for nearly 25 years, since I poached it from a porn site. But I never did anything with it — until today.

Now it will be my new micro blog.

More to come.
