Hawaiian Interstate Highways
While in Hawaii, I took notice of all the unique highway signage that otherwise wouldn't be found back in Texas.
I was particularly curious about their interstate highways, all of which begin with "H" (as opposed to an "I").
Then my brain melted as I learned they aren't numbered using the same logic as domestic routes: They're numbered in the order they were built. H-1, followed by H-2 then H-3. So naturally H-201 comes next.
And even/odd numbering does not represent their orientation. H-1 and H-3 go east/west, while H-2 runs north/south.
Very pupule!
