Since I’m still very new to running, for me, it’s hiking.

While I am not too much of a fan of traveling for a day job, I’ve been lucky to have spent 2 months in Atlanta. On weekends, it was up north, to the mountains. I got to see parts of the Appalachian Trail. While I didn’t get to hike when work sent me to Seattle, I was able to get into the city and down around Mount Rainier. Last fall brought me to Oregon, where I got to hike along the Pacific coast and around state and county parks full of autumn color.

I always have to see what’s around that next bend or over the next hill.

I suspect that when I run more, that will carry over.

This is very useful. I’m transferring a static HTML site as well as an active blog into a new site that will be all WordPress. I’ve been debating posts vs pages and how to structure permalinks. My old setup on permalinks is like yours. The more I can follow other people’s decisions about these issues the better for my own clarity.

I was saw a dog get run over by a school bus. Clearly not the same thing. But a disturbing image nonetheless that I can’t get rid of. I can’t even imagine running across a scene like that. A long and healthy life is exactly what I tell DF when he asks why I get up at 5:30 to run.

I am not a runner but my daughter is, cross country team. This post makes me want to take it up. My daughter says its a time when she feels free. Despite your trials, your triumph was so very sweet. Congratulations!

Thanks! Next race may be Austin but is more likely the Dallas Rock ‘n’ Roll Half. Then it’s back to coaching in the summer.
